I would like to talk about building trends in home design in this post. Over the past years, a trend towards open concept home designs has been emerging. Homes with this design concept generate a feeling of spaciousness and comfort; meanwhile it gives the option of arranging the furniture and light fixtures to divide space and creates functional areas having style as a common factor.
In the picture below we can appreciate how this flowing design enables the host to interact and continue the conversation with the guests, as well as to supervise and talk with the children while cooking.
Even though, it is true that when decorating this kind of houses we may find some problems with the arrangement of some furniture due to the lack of walls. Because of this, we may pay special attention to the furniture used without overdoing the space.
This is one of my favourite designs as it requires a different interior design approach. Thanks to fewer walls and divisions, different zones can be created by the use of ceramic materials to give this space the personality it deserves.
In this picture we have used “Grevin” from Peronda’s Museum collection; a highly sheened marble patterned floor tile which, maintaining a cohesive look, creates a large all-in-one space, instead of having the living room, the dinning room and the kitchen separated by walls.
With this open concept living room, we wanted to create a relaxing area using a small shelf; to give that area its own identity, we thought about covering the wall with the Manhattan model from Venis, creating such a cozy and a stylish space in a modern style.
In conclusion, thanks to different combinations of furniture and floor tiles, we created a bright and a smart open concept space.
